Illinois Women And The New Millennium
Sharon's piece "Pandora's Dilemna" was chosen to be a part of this exhibit that opened at The Illinois Art Gallery at the Illinois State Museum in Chicago and then traveled to the National Museum for Women in the Arts located Washington D.C. and then proeeded to travel through 2001 to seven other locations in Illinois. Her piece is based on the myth of Pandora, the open head becoming the box where hope escapes. The small creatures escaping the head are made of fragrant beeswax. But the pregnant women on the ceramic capital symbolize the hope left inside that is also the next generation.
